Cross-sell & Upsell Intelligence

Which customers are ready to buy more, whether that is a second product or a higher tier, and what in their behaviour gives it away.

The decision: which customers to put the next offer in front of, and which to leave alone.

A conversion rate for the whole base is not a decision. Blanket campaigns to everyone train customers to ignore you, and they spend budget on the majority who were never going to take the offer.

Cross-sell and upsell are one question asked twice. A customer pressing against the limits of what they currently pay for is a customer ready to spend more, whether the answer is a second product or a higher tier of the one they already have. The signal is the same, and it is behavioural rather than demographic: what people do, not who they are.

Questions It Answers

  • Which customers are ready for an addon, and which for a higher tier?
  • What in their behaviour gives it away, and how far in advance?
  • Which part of the base is worth an offer, and which part is worth leaving alone?
  • Which segments are being over-contacted for no return?

What Gives It Away

Subscribers repeatedly topping up are subscribers bumping against the limits of the plan they are on, and that shows up in billing data well before any conversation happens. The same is true of usage that keeps hitting a ceiling, or of customers whose consumption pattern has quietly changed shape over a few billing cycles.

None of that requires new data collection. It is already in the billing and event history you keep for other reasons.

What You Get

  • Your base ranked by readiness rather than scored, so the commercial team can choose where the line falls
  • The behaviour behind each ranking named, so the offer can be chosen rather than guessed at
  • Segment-level breakdown showing where offers are landing and where they are being wasted
  • A plain statement of what the evidence supports and where it thins out

In the sample telco run behind the demo, the top band converted at roughly three times the base rate while the bottom two bands sat near zero. The value is in knowing which band a customer is in before you spend anything contacting them.

Same Data, Same Engine

This runs on the same intake as the rest of the Revenue Diagnostic. There is nothing additional to send, and no separate integration. It is the same joined view of your customers, asked a different question.

See It Working

The cross-sell module has a live sample report on synthetic data, produced by the same pipeline a Design Partner engagement uses.
